Pick / Pack / Deliver

Optional Add-on

Bundled with the Warehouse Staff role of the Mobile App (gstapp) add-on — contact Data Spec (www.dataspec.info) for activation and pricing.

Office-side companion to the Warehouse Staff app — tracks a sale bill through picking and packing, and gives you a way to see and resolve issues warehouse staff flag while picking.

The picking/packing/issues tracking below is opt-in — the Pick and Pack and Picked / Issues screens don't exist until it's switched on (see below). Delivery Details is not part of that switch — it's covered here only because it's the next step after packing, but it works the same whether or not this module is turned on.

Enabling It

Tick Use Pick and Pack under On / Off Switches and save. Two new entries appear under Menu > Documents: Pick and Pack and Picked / Issues. Leaving it unticked hides both — bills skip straight from Ready to Packed/Delivered as before, with no picking/checking step and no Issues status.

Status at a Glance

A bill moves through: Ready → Picking → Picked (or Issues, if anything was flagged) → Checked → Packing → Packed → Delivered. Each status has its own color, shown consistently across the Pick and Pack grid, the Picked/Issues board, and the status label in Sale Entry.

Pick and Pack (Mark Done / Undone)

A filterable grid of bills (date range, series, status) for the day-to-day picking/checking/packing workflow:

  • Select a bill and a picker, then P/Slip to print the picking slip and mark it Picking in Progress.
  • Picking Done moves it to Picked — or straight to Issues if the warehouse app reported any problems while picking.
  • If it's in Issues, Check Done shows a summary of what was flagged (missing stock, wrong rate, wrong batch, short quantity, or other) and asks you to confirm before marking every open issue on the bill resolved and moving it to Checked.
  • Pack Done on a Checked bill moves it to Packed.

Picked / Issues Board

A lighter-weight, read-mostly view of the same thing — every bill currently sitting at Picked or Issues, refreshing on its own every minute so it can be left open as a "what needs attention" board. Double-click a row to open that bill directly in Sale Entry.

Addressing Issues in Sale Entry

Opening a bill that has open issues (double-click from either screen above, or open it directly) shows the issue count next to the status label, and tints the flagged line(s) in the item grid.

  • Edit is allowed on an Issues bill the same as on a Picked one — you don't need to wait for Check Done to fix a flagged line.
  • Click the status label to see what was flagged and, once you've made your corrections, mark all of the bill's issues resolved in one step. This is a deliberate, explicit action — nothing resolves on its own just because you edited and saved a line.
  • Deleting a flagged line entirely is treated as resolving its issue — since the line itself won't exist afterward to show what was wrong, a snapshot of it (item, batch, quantity, value) is kept in its place.

Crate Tracking

Physical crates get a barcode/QR sticker scanned in in the warehouse app while picking, so packers and checkers can tell which crate belongs to which bill without a printed label. See the Warehouse Staff app guide for the scanning steps — desktop's role is display-only here (bound crate codes show at the top of a bill's picking slip); a USB barcode scanner into a lookup field for the packing station is planned but not yet built.

Delivery Details (Always Available)

This screen is unaffected either way — it doesn't require Packed status when Pick and Pack is off, so delivery confirmation stays available immediately after Ready, without needing this module switched on at all.
