Extension for dsGST ERP
This app — every role below — requires separate activation. Contact Data Spec (www.dataspec.info) for pricing before rolling it out to your team.
Android app for your field and warehouse staff — salesmen, company representatives and pick/pack staff. It talks directly to your dsGST installation, so anything entered in the field (orders, receipts) lands straight in the desktop system — no separate import step.
Who It's For
The app shows different screens depending on the login it's given:

Getting Started
First-time setup — Your office gives you three things: the server address of your gstApi, a User Id and a Password. The User Id and Password are set up on the desktop — see Company Representatives.
- On the home screen, tap Config.
- Enter the Server, User Id and Password.
- Tap Check — the app confirms the login and shows whether it's a Sales or Co. Rep login.
- Tap Register — this ties the login to this phone and signs you in.
After that the app signs you in by itself each time it opens. If it can't reach the server (no signal, server down), the home screen shows Login and Config — tap Login to try again once you're back online.
For security, the app can only be used from the device it was first
registered on. If you need to switch devices, someone with admin access
on the desktop must clear the Device Id field for your login first.
Update Available — When your office moves to a server version that needs a newer app, the app opens an Update Available screen instead of the home screen, showing your current version. Nothing else works until you install the new version — ask your office for it.
Change Password — From the home screen, tap Password at any time to change it.
Shared Features (Salesman & Company Rep)
These are available to both Salesman and Company Rep logins — not to Warehouse Staff logins, which go straight to the Pick-Pack-Deliver screens instead.
Manufacturers & Pricing
Tap Mfrs to browse manufacturers with their contact details, or Price to look up item pricing by category, including GST rate and markup — useful for a quick check without waiting for the office.
Master Data Sync
Manufacturer, category, item and rate data is cached on the device so lists load instantly rather than on every request. Tap Master to see when it was last synced and refresh it manually.
Receipts, orders and Pick-Pack-Deliver actions all need a live connection to save — if you lose signal partway through entering something, finish it once you're back online rather than assuming it saved. Orders are the one exception to losing your work: an order you haven't saved yet is kept on the phone as a paused order that you can resume and save later.
Printer Setup
Tap Printer to select and pair a printer for bills and receipts. Use Test Print after selecting one to confirm it's working before you need it in the field.
